Chamber was a New York gallery founded in 2014 as a contemporary *Wunderkammer*: a space conceived around the idea of the collection. Over the course of three years, Chamber invited a series of guest curators to develop their own collections, bringing together newly commissioned works with archival material and other objects identified through research. The resulting exhibitions treated collecting as a form of inquiry, placing contemporary design in dialogue with objects, images, documents, and ideas drawn from different periods and contexts.

Active from 2014 to 2017, Chamber worked with curators including Studio Job, Andrew Zuckerman, and Matylda Krzykowski, among others. Across its program, the gallery collaborated with more than 400 designers, architects, artists, and makers from around the world, including Sabine Marcelis, FormaFantasma, Alessandro Mendini, Steven Holl, Azuma Makoto, and Nathalie Du Pasquier.

Each collection articulated a distinct point of view, positioning Chamber as a curatorial framework in which contemporary production, historical research, and material culture could coexist.
